We held another event at Culture Lab in Long Island City, NY on June 8th, 2024. The event drew a lively crowd, with many attendees, including families with Hakka backgrounds, excited to reconnect with their heritage upon discovering our team.
Lei Cha is a traditional tea that embodies Hakka culinary tradition. It blends together powdered tea leaves, sesame seeds, peanuts, and other ingredients with hot water. At our event, we innovated by pairing it with chilled red bean soup, enhancing the traditional experience.
Stomach Acid Man 위산맨, a renowned Taiwanese YouTuber, joined our booth to experience making Lei Cha, guided one-on-one by Isabelle Chiang, our Head of Integrated Marketing. Through Stomach Acid Man’s channel, we hope to showcase our efforts to promote Hakka culture in New York. As mentioned in a recent United Nations article, preserving traditional cultural assets in this rapidly advancing age of Artificial Intelligence is a significant challenge, and the Hakka Association of New York is committed to progressing on this path!
